The Year Of The Birthday

This year in birthdays, Mommy got a little lax in making the announcements, except for Leila's birthday (read her birthday post here: http://1bigchaotichappyfamily.blogspot.com/2011/01/leilas-birthday.html)

So I thought I'd a do a birthday recap for you.

Leila's birthday was in January:

This year we had a Seven, which is the Year of the Bossy Little Girl Who Thinks She Can Run a School, a Household and a Country.

Isabel's April birthday:

This year we also had a Five. This is the Year of the Official Big Kid on the cusp of the Perpetual Baby with a kind of Peter Pan Complex as a result. Her interest in being a Big Kid is influenced by the lunar cycle, so...let's hope the first day of kindergarten falls on a full moon day!

And Nicholas' July birthday:

We also had a Nine this year, for the first time ever, which is very exciting because it is also the Year of the I Shall Always Be Older Than You, No Matter What, But My Age Is Especially Superior In The 98 Days Before YOUR Birthday; and with this year being the year of The Fourth Grader (apparently Nicholas' measure of being a Big Kid) and The Last Year Before The Big One-Oh, it's an especially significant year. Mommy senses middle school right around the corner and it makes her nervous!

Exactly 88 days from today, we will have another Nine when Frankie's birthday hits:

I can't wait to see what The Year of the Nine has in store for him!
